The Thin Line Between Arrogance and Self-Respect
Display of power on helpless is a hint of Arrogance whereas keeping one's head high under such circumstances is a display of Self-Respect.
Arrogance is a vice, Self-Respect is a virtue.
There is a very thin line between arrogance and self-respect which is hard to understand. A self-respecting person is always motivated to perform simple acts of decency. A very important fact is that having self-respect does not require being extremely generous. An arrogant person is the one who always thinks of himself or herself to be superior in virtue of what he or she is superior to others.
The line in between is too thin to understand the difference. Lack of self-respect can many times lead to arrogance.
